Gregory Davis

Greg Davis is a native of Akron and received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Physics from the University of Akron in 1976 and 1982 respectively. Greg is married to Alix Kneifel, from Hobart, Indiana and they live in Pasadena, CA.

Greg has worked as a Member of Technical Staff in Mechanical Engineering at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California for the last seven years. At JPL, he has supported several planetary spacecraft programs, most recently as lead dynamics environments engineer for the Mars Pathfinder mission. Currently, Greg is working as the mechanical systems engineer for Champollion, a comet landing and sample return mission. Previously, Greg worked as a physics teacher in Stow, Ohio and as an exploration geophysicist in Houston, Texas, both for five years. Greg has published several papers in the area of shock and vibration testing and will complete his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University later this year.
