Academic Information - Overview

J. Jay McMahon

Jay attended UA physics from 1/94 to 6/95 and worked on characterization of thin films of bismuth grown on mica substrates. "I feel that the experiences that I had in experimental physics at UA, especially what I learned about thin film deposition and characterization, were an excellent introduction to the microelectronics and microfabrication industries."

Upon graduation he took a position at The Microfabrication Laboratory (MFL) at Case Western Reserve University. The MFL provides fabrication services for research and development in microfabrication for both academic and industrial areas. Through a program called Ohio MEMSnet, primarily funded by a grant from The Ohio Board of Regents, outside users have access to this state-of-the-art fabrication facility.

Further information about Jay and this facility can be found at his homepage: http://mems.eeap.cwru.edu/~jjay/.
